Installing Scrum Dashboard v3

Version 3 requires Windows Server 2008, Team Foundation Server 2010, Scrum for Team System v3
  • Unzip the downloaded files to for example the "Inetpub" folder (on your Application Tier)
  • Create a new application pool called ScrumDashboard with:
- Integrated pipeline
- .NET Framework 4
- Identity: Network Service
  • Add a new Application under the "Team Foundation Server" web site called for example "Scrum" and point to the extracted files. Select application pool "ScrumDashboard".
  • Open the "Authentication" settings in IIS and disable "Anonymous Authentication". Enable "Windows Authentication". Leave ASP.NET impersonation enabled.
  • Edit web.config and set the URLs to your TFS, tfsServer and tfsWebAccess.
  • The burndown chart is displayed by rendering one of the images on the existing Burndown Report, the ID of this image may be different on some installations. You determine this ID by clicking on unavailable report in Scrum Dashboard, it should render the complete report in a popup window. Then right-click on the image displaying the chart and select Properties and find the rs:ImageID in the querystring, you need to set that value in web.config setting tfsReportImageID.

Project contributors

Scrum Dashboard assumes that everyone working with a team project is a member of the "Contributors"-group, otherwise you may get some strange behaviours with non-working initials for example.

Multiple collections

Each Scrum Dashboard instance can only handle 1 collection, if you want to have multiple collections you need to create one site for each collection and point the URL to TFS directly against that collection, for example:
<add key="tfsServer" value="http://tfsserver:8080/tfs/collection"/>

The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found

Some TFS installations require that you specify the collection name, I can't say I know why but you probably don't have a default collection configured so then you need to specify one:
<add key="tfsServer" value="http://tfsserver:8080/tfs/collection"/>

Please use the forum for questions, thanks.

for some reason the installation of scrum dashboard corrupts the artefacts (e.g. product backlog items and sprint backlog tasks) once the dashboard is run. Can you tell me any idea why this is happening ? I used latest version of EMC2 Scrum Process and Scrum Dashboard for TFS 2010 x64 (w/SP1)

Yes, I'm pretty sure this can be run on a separate machine, since I have executed the code through the IDE against my TFS machine which is on a different server. However, I'm using Windows 7.

This could be naive question:
can I install scrum dashboard on windows XP
this is because I donot have access rights to the TFS machine
